Radiator with soapstone heating element by Néomitis®, a patented innovation



 

The heating element : the soapstone

 

> The soapstone is a very soft stone. It has special physical characteristics, such as:
- Its high calorific capacity: excellent thermal accumulation compared to its volume. 
- Its very good emissivity coefficient : strong radiant power.

> The benefits of soapstone heating element Néomitis® :
- French manufacturing, automated. 
- High quality: stone specially used for heating applications due to its high temperature resistance and thermal shock. 
- Robustness: the stone is cut in parallel to the layers to maintain the necessary robustness to the application.
- High heat resistance: mica resistance located between the two stone slabs. 
- Double insulation: Double power cables with teflon insulation. 
- Optimized Assembly : the slabs have a polished on side of resistance that allows a better grip of high temperature silicone ensures tightness of the heating body. 

 

 



 



 

Why a patented innovation : the "STINS" system ?

 

> During the radiator establishment, the stone is heavy, about ten kilograms or more, its handling is difficult. Therefore, we decided to facilitate its insertion, to protect and to preserve it from damage during insertion. 

 

> When transporting, from delivery to installation of the radiator, this latter being handled and moved several times, it is often exposed to vibrations, shocks. We felt, it was essential to protect and wedge the stone to keep it in stable position in the radiator to prevent movement in the heating body, and the risk of impact with the heating elements. 

 

> To the use, thanks to its thermal accumulation power, the stone emits a high heat. Thus, inside the radiator, we designed a permanent air space around the stone, avoiding any direct contact with the heating body and to substantially reduce the surface temperature.

 

 

 

 

 

 



 

The solution Néomitis®



Our R&D teams have developed an innovative system to maintain the stone while improving the thermal inertia of the radiator:

> Impact resistance : maintenance and stability of the stone in the radiator. 

 

> Optimised thermal inertia thanks to :
- A mechanical insulation : the stone is not in direct contact with heating body in aluminium alloy avoiding hot spots and promoting the distribution of heat. 
- To control airflow :
- Presence of a constant air gap of 7mm around the stone. 
- Design of the heating body specially designed to optimize airflow and favor thermal exchange. The result, a significant decrease of the surface temperature. 

 

> Optimized overheating protection : thermal limiter located at the top and maintain an ideal location.
